Money saver

Our 2 1/2 year old lab began vomiting a large volume of bloody gelatinous goo which was...disturbing, to say the least. We took her to our vet who sent us to an emergency vet who kept her overnight while performing a multitude of tests. I picked her up the next day along with some medication and a $2400 bill. We submitted a claim to Trupanion the next day and found their customer service to be very responsive. They kept us updated on the claim status as they gathered the necessary information from the vets involved and 2 weeks after the incident we were notified that a check was in the mail. After removing the cost of the vet exams (not covered) and our deductible, Trupanion reimbursed us $2000. Very satisfied! The only caveat is that the vet bill must be paid in full by the pet owner who is then reimbursed by Trupanion instead of the vet billing Trupanion directly. Overall we were very satisfied by our experience. The knowledge that we can afford to provide medical treatment for our dog without having to skip a mortgage payment gives peace of mind. Well worth the monthly premium.

Spectacular Service!

I couldn't be happier with Trupanion and their processing of my claim for Abbey's emergency C-Section. The processing was extremely fast. Everyone I contacted was helpful and thoughtful. I'm go glad we have insurance with Trupanion and we plan to add our new puppy to our policy, when she's old enough. Thank-you!

Gone in a gulp

Our puppy, Smoke, a five month old Labradoodle gulped down an article of clothing belonging to our granddaughter. It was a Sunday night so we took him to the vet emergency clinic where he was treated and discharged. The clinic filed the paperwork for us with Trupanion and we had our check in about a week. It could not have been an easier or smoother transaction. My first experience with pet insurance and I recommend it and Trupanion.

Fast help in a time of need

The prompt approval and payments by Trupanion have been a huge help in the medical crisis that arose due to our dog Nina's cancer. Can't say enough as to how pleased we are at averting what could have been heartbreaking decisions on treatment. Fortunately NIna has responded well to surgery and chemothereapy, and her life has definitely been prolonged.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
