Always Impressed with Trupanion!!

I've had Trupanion for 6 years now and have 7 animals insured. My 17 year old cat has Hyperthyroid and, as a result, has ongoing issues. Trupanion has always taken care of the claims quickly. I can't stress enough...DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOUR ANIMAL IS ILL TO GET INSURANCE. IF you insure them immediately upon adoption/purchase you'll love dealing with this company. I have always had more than a pleasant experience with them. For years I didn't have to make claims, however, over the last 12 months I've had claims paid on 5 of my 7 animals. The overall amount paid out by Trupanion was over $12,000. These policies allow me to provide top notch care for my fur kids :) The staff are ALWAYS wonderful to deal with and nice to chat with. IF you are shopping for insurance please consider this company...you won't be disappointed!

free trial -not really free

The free trial is really false advertising. The fine print says no claims will be paid during the first 30 days of sign up. Therefore - not really free is it? Its false advertising. My puppy came with a free trial and when I could not activate it, then I called in and was told that it only activates upon visiting the vet first and then activation within 24 hrs of that visit. So I went to the vet with them, then I registered them online. A week later, one of the puppies had low sugar and diarrhea. Trupanion wont cover the vet emergency as they said I did not activate the certificate within the time period (which I did according to the rep on the phone) and secondly, it is a precondition? Since when is low sugar and diarrhea a pre-condition? my pup stopped eating. I didn't know there was such a thing as precondition. Then the final thing: No coverage in the 1st 30 days of activation of certificate for free trial? Isn't that the point of free trial to get coverage and see if we liked it. I had registered to enrol further after my emergency visit and now I am going to remove all my pets from this insurance company. I have been led to believe that insurance is insurance, whether trial or not. I don't like to be falsely mislead.

Fast and efficient

My Henry has had numerous claims with Trupanion. The most recent have been within the last two weeks. He had pneumonia and then a few days later was hospitalized with pancreatitis. Trupanion handled my claim quickly and efficiently. There was a small error where they forgot to include medications in the payment but one phone call and it was taken care of right away. Henry also has epilepsy and every claim relating to his epilepsy is handled promptly. Customer service reps are always pleasant and easy to talk to.

Excellent

My Greyhound initially went in for a broken leg last year. March 2014. He was in an external fixator for seven months, followed by Osteo bone cancer and needed his leg amputated. Following amputatiom he has been on chemo and is ongoing. Throughout this entire procedure, Trupanion has been excellent and has gone beyond my expectations. They have helped make a horrible situation better by providing us excellent service, compassion and handling everything in an extremely timely manner. I submit them a claim via email as within the same day or following day they responded with an apology and that they are working on the claim. Then by the following day they send me another email saying the check is on its way! From the time I submit my claim to receipt of check it's usually within one week, quite unbelievable! Also since this is continuing claim even though a year prior I have only had to pay my deductible upon the original injury and then 10% of each claim. I have been going to an animal specialty hospital since March 2014, sometimes three times a week and for the first seven months between two and three times a week and now going once a month. I've met so many people and heard about their financial problems concerning their pets injuries and it's amazing to me how many of them do not know about pet insurance or have had bad experiences with it. Trupanion I have spread the word and spoken very highly of you so out of your kindness and generosity , I hope more of these people come to you so they can afford to take care of their beloved pets. Words cannot thank you enough

Trupanion is a partner in Dakota's care

Anyone that has a pet, needs to have insurance. Not only is it a valuable investment , it give you piece of mind and support when you need it most. When considering insurance look no futher than triupanion . We can not say enough positives about how we have been treated and how they stand behind their product and word. Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
