Simply amazing

trupanion has and continues to be great to my family and our shiba named Kai. They always respond to our claims in very fast manner and than follow through with a check even faster. They keep amazing me and customer service is great. They truly do care about your pets health unlike most insurance company's. Thanks you've got a life long client that's for sure.

Trupanion is a wonderful pet insurance company.

Courteous and knowledgeable staff. Very fast turnaround from the time your claim is submitted. Reasonable monthly rate. Can't say enough good things about this insurance. It's worth every penny. I would highly recommend it.

Life Saving

My dog Max became critically ill with a collapsed trachea and could not breath. It was heartbreaking to watch. Max was intubated and put into a medically induced coma. I was terrified when I was told that they were unable to extubate my precious boy and I was faced with the decision of euthanasia or a tracheal stent. I can't tell you how releived I was knowing that Trupanion would be there to help cover the cost of this very expensive procedure and it certainly helped make my decision that much easier. Max had the life saving surgery and is presently doing very well. Trupanion were very prompt as usual in responding to insurance claims and I can't thank them enough. Thank you for coming through as usual Trupanion. Linda

ACL repair

From the very first phone call, which was answered by a friendly and very helpful woman, to the check, received only a week after the procedure, the entire process was smooth, sympathetic, and helpful. Our dog tore her ACL, and after the Xrays we found that she would need surgery. I phoned to ask if the diagnostics were covered; they are. The associate went on to tell me about preapproval, and guide me through the process. The check arrived within a week, and there were no nasty surprises. We are so pleased and impressed with the service!

Trupanion Saved the Day (after hours Labor Day)

We were warned that puppies are expensive, but we decided to pull the trigger anyways! We had only had little Remy for a few weeks when he got super sick on Sunday night of Labor Day weekend when our new vet was already closed...until Tuesday! We rushed him to an unknown after hours clinic where we were advised that if we didn't leave him overnight he may not make it (dehydration that main concern for the 9 lb. puppy). Leaving him overnight at a foreign place was nerve wracking enough, but they ensured us that the took Trupanion and that they are the best coverage they had seen. So that was comforting. Sure enough they were right! Trupanion coveraged exactly what they promised (90%)! And they dealt directly with the clinic so we didn't even have to pay out of pocket to get reimbursed. So easy! I called customer service a few times to get my insurance number and confirm coverage and they were SO nice! Overall incredible insurance experience and little Remy is doing great!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
