Great service!

I have had two instances to use the services of Trupanion. Although neither were situations one would wish for, they turned out to be good experienced with Trupanion. Getting a quote ahead of time allowed me to know what to prepare for and to be sure the vet costs were covered as expected. They paid claims immediately therefore. What a great experience. I am so happy we have been with Trupanion no for nearly 4 years. Thank you.

Supportive

Our Bella threw her back out, was in terrible pain, shaking, cryingRushed her to Vets. After exam, prescribed MRI and was on pain Meds for a week! But Trupanion was there for us as always, confirmed our claim immediately and we rec'd a cheque within a couple of days. We've had Trupanion since we she was a pup and have had some unexpected challenges but Trupanion saw us through it all. If you have a pet, you should definitely have Trupanion💕

Really easy process, company stayed in contact

This is the second pet insurance company I have dealt with. My first experience was with VCA for our older lab. Trupanion is so much easier to deal with. They stay in contact every step of the way. They confirm when they receive your initial claim, email during processing and at the end with the final conclusion. I was very happy dealing with them for my first two claims. I have a 6 month old French Bulldog. She has had ear infections and had sinus surgery - Trupanion helped with a portion of both bills.

Good coverage, quick refunds.

I value having pet insurance, and while our monthly premiums are kind of high, its because we chose a 0$ deductible, which has worked for us. The only thing we didn't realize is that the taxes aren't included, which, for a smaller bill, you don't notice, but we recently had a very large vet bill (because our dog has cancer) and we really noticed how much we still had to pay, despite the 0 deductible and 90% coverage from Trupanion.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
