Seamless fast and true to agreed terms

Two separate claims, both processed very quickly. Received an email within a few days with clear information about what was going to be covered and what wasn't and why, matching the terms of the policy, no unexpected deductions or rejections. Payment arrived in the mail within a couple of weeks. No surprises except how quickly and efficiently everything was settled. My policy has a large deductible, but the expense was even larger, so that`s what I can speak to.

Highly recommended, saved my dog's life.

My girl had Steroid Responsive Meningitis. Between diagnosis and treatment the bill was well over $10 000. The emergency and specialty hospital did direct billing. It allowed my wonderful dog to get the best care and I didn't have to stress about funds to pay for her. I paid a fraction of the cost thanks to the insurance. Trupanion saved her life in my eyes. I HIGHLY recommend Trupanion to all owners.

FRUSTRATED WITH TRUPANION

This is our 3rd claim that has been DENIED by trupanion. This time it if for a new episode of cough, unrelated to kennel cough 6 months ago, and they denied the claim saying it was "there before." They treated this cough with antibiotics also, but our dog is vaccinated for kennel cough now and this is a new episode. I actually thought she could be joking on something. Today I received an email denying my claim. At this rate, it will be cheaper to stop the insurance and just pay cash. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED with trupanion. Oh, and I'm a doctor. So I know how this insurance thing should work.

Excellent!

Trupanion was excellent when I made my claim for Harley. He needed both knees operated on as he could barely walk. They paid right away and when the surgeon needed a quote pre-approved they got right back to him. Very impressed!

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
