Answered each and every question
I am a helicopter mom to our dog and both operators spent as much time as I needed asking all sorts of questions. They saved me money and the claim form was extremely easy.
One operator even stated we spoke b4 and she remembered our conversation. I was shocked at the quality of the amazing customer service. I can't see it being any easier or you being heard more at any other company. Stick w Trupanion, I honestly believe they care for your pet. 10 stars.

A life saver
I didn't think I would survive e't believe I would have been able to save my Buster. The diagnosis was overwhelming and all I could think about is how am I going to be able to afford this on a pension income. My girlfriend convinced me to buy insurance a few months ago and that's the smartest thing I ever did. It's like winning an ongoing lottery. Buster has gone thru multiple surgeries to repair a difficult laceration.In addition he got infected and the only drug that fought this infection cost over $1000. How would I have been able to get him proper care if it wasn't for Trupanion.

Best insurance and care for your pet available!
Trupanion is an honest and very straight forward type of insurance. All you need to know is presented on the website in plain language without a maze of difficult to understand and confusing jargon. It's easy to sign up for and the flexibility in choice of coverage and premiums makes it affordable for all. I know people say 'just put away monthly that same amount you'd be spending on premiums and you'll be covered'. I can honestly say that is likely not going to happen (we all have expenses to cover) and the unfortunate costs of vet bills will always exceed the amount you can put away. There is another (among many) very important reason to get your pet family members insured. When you show up frantic (and most likely crying) at the vet clinic or hospital with your pet in an emergent state, the staff will begin to care for your pet immidiately when you tell them you are with Trupanion. Otherwise you have to wait for the exam and the scary estimate before you make the very large deposit and the work ensues. I can honestly say as a pet owner and a human emergency nurse, that is precious time you sometimes can't afford. The weight lifted off our hearts knowing our dogs very expensive treatment was going to be mostly covered and not having to extend our debt in an already very sad situation was literally priceless. She is now well and thriving after a very bleak diagnosis and initial expectation she wouldn't make it (more than once actually). Only because of the Trupanion care was our little Stella able to receive superb care. We have also learned how extensive veterinary medicine is, and how much potential there is for huge number of conditions to be treated. Lastly, the staff at Trupanion have ALWAYS been caring, compassionate and immidiately available. Human insurance companies could learn A LOT from these guys.
I am truly grateful for this service and believe me, we pay the highest premium, by choice, and it is entirely worth it. We've done the math!

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
