Getting Trupanion was a great decision!!!
Nobody wants to have a sick pet and actually need to file a claim. But when my dog was diagnosed with a chronic illness, paying for her treatment was the last thing I had to worry about. Dealing with Trupanion has been such a pleasant experience. Every representative with whom I have spoken has been patient, kind, understanding, and beyond helpful. I truly appreciate everything they have done to help during this scary and difficult and emotional time.

Trupanion is a safety net that never fails me.
My American Pitbull Pixie was found to have a condition called leaky dog syndrome. This condition causes her to be incontinent while she is at rest it sleeping. This is a more common condition than most people know and can be caused when the muscles are weakened during spaying. Thankfully this condition is very treatable with medication twice a day and consistent checks by a get every 3 months. Trupanion has covered all of it and when we have problem with a claim they look into it immediately. I love how friendly they are and no matter what they always ask how pixie is feeling.

Amazing pet insurance!
Excellent customer service, extremely quick processing of claims, reasonable rates for great coverage. I have recommended them to many, many people and -- based on my experiences with this company -- I wouldn't even consider checking out other pet insurance.

Best Insurance!!
Our dog Rupert was unexpectedly diagnosed with hip dysplasia. He was painful and no longer running and enjoying his walks because his hips hurt. We were able to get both hips repaired with Trupanion covering 90% of the surgery!!!! The total ended up being $1900 Trupanion covered and we paid $200! Wow! 200 dollars to have both hips repaired. We are so thankful we signed him up when he was a baby!

Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
