I think Trupanion failed on my claim to be covered for Bruno's possible early renal disease.

I think Trupanion failed on my claim to be covered for Bruno's possible early renal disease. He was denied coverage even though there was no diagnosis of anything before he was insured. And he had only a slightly elevated creatinine which could have been caused by a myriad of factors. There was no pre-existing condition before he was insured. You will take your premiums, but you will make every effort to deny a claim if you think you can get away with it...no matter how tenuous the defense. In my case, you are plain and simply wrong. What good is an insurance company that tries to squirm out of legitimate claims when you need them? As a lawyer and customer, I can't endorse a company that will deny any clam they think they can get away with. It's not coverage.

I am sorry about the situation with my Mom, Patricia Simon. She is struggling with mental illness and she does not understand the trupanion policy information. I think you handled the situation very well and it is best that she does not have a policy at this time so she went ahead and cancelled. Thank-you for trying to help her. Tara Lewis

Per instructions from the last rep.

Per instructions from the last rep. I spoke to I had the vets office send in a letter. What she DIDN'T tell me was that I needed an appeal form. So the letter was faxed to Trupanion and nothing was done with it! I don't think anyone actually reads this anyway. A month wait for an appeal when your claims department made the error is very annoying.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
