Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). Saves money, easy claims process, quick turnaround for reimbursements!
Trupanion has literally saved us hundreds of dollars! Not only that, Trupanion has streamlined their claim process to the point of perfection! It is incredibly easy and quick to submit a claim AND the turnaround time for reimbursement is 7 days or less, AMAZING! This is also because Trupanion started offering direct deposit (a long time ago) as another option for reimbursement instead of mailing a check. Much safer and WAY FASTER! Customer service is SUPERIOR when I call with questions and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thank you, Trupanion!

Painless
During times when I have to submit a claim, it's usually pretty stressful having to deal with the vets and the situations. However, Trupanion makes the claims parts of the process painless. I can't imagine how much easier you can make it, you provide clear details and are prompt with your communication. I appreciate your service and I recommend it to everyone I know with a pet. Thanks.

Why can anyone initiate a policy but only someone with a license can cancel one
I signed up my under 6 month old kitten on Saturday, on Sunday i was locked out of the website and had to call to get password reset even though I never had one. On Monday I finally got to read policy and after reading it, started looking up reviews and saw this company likes to use any excuse to call any condition pre-existing which is not the security I was seeking. I called right after reading policy on Monday (policy says total refund if canceled within 30 days). I was told someone licensed in this area must call me back to cancel maybe in a week. Very scary and now I still want pet insurance, but am afraid to sign with another company until this is resolved. I also tried to use a coupon that claimed it would reduce registration fee, but was told it wouldn't. It was also indicated that I should have been able to have month of coverage to read what the coverage was and decide with no charge since this is a kitten, but no go on that either. This is a public company and I suppose shareholders are far more important to them than clients or pets. I never made a claim thank goodness so the rest of this is not applicable.

Trupanion is there when I need them
Trupanion is fantastic!! Whenever I have a question or concern, I know I can call Trupanion & one of their customer service reps will answer any & questions I have. I'm so very glad to have taken out pet insurance for my 2 years young puppy Becka.
Monthly Cost
Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
