Don't be duped!

I've had Trupanion for my dog for almost 10 years and what a mistake! For a short time I also insured my cat but the one time I filed a claim, they wouldn't pay because they claimed it was related to a previous issue even though I had my vet call to say it was different. I pulled my cat's insurance at that point but kept my dog's because insuring an older pet is harder. The biggest issue though, was recently. After 10 years with literally only 1 small claim, my dog had a rough year last year with a number of claims. Coincidentally, only a few months later, my premium TRIPLED!!! After 10 years of the same rate. They say they don't raise the rates after a claim but that is absolute bull. And they've screwed me now because my dog is older and will be difficult to insure. What a terrible company.

Trupanion is a fantastic pet insurance company!

Trupanion has come through for me more than once, but this last time was undoubtedly the most important. My boy cat was diagnosed with a potentially life threatening form of pancreatitis, and his hospitalization and treatment were going to be severely expensive. I called customer service on Sunday evening, which is amazing in itself, and got a wonderful, kind rep named Michael who was unbelievably kind and patient with me while I cried on the phone with him. Then he assured me that the company could set up direct payment to my vet hospital, and that I would not need to come up with all that money up front. I can sleep at night knowing that 90% of my babie's care is covered, and that dealing with the paperwork will be easy. THIS COMPANY IS THE BEST!!

Trupanion is the best!

Trupanion has been great. Our dog Zeke had 2 cranial cruciate ligament surgeries in the first 15 months of coverage, well over $6,000. Trupanion was very prompt in paying those claims. Since then, we have had other claims for Zeke and also our other 13 year old dog, Pickles. Both have severe arthritis in their back legs and Trupanion has covered their medications and supplements consistently without question. Their customer service reps are the best anywhere. I highly recommend this company.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
