A veterinarian friend recommended insurance and I'm so glad I got it!

Years ago a veterinarian friend spoke about the agony vet Dr.s face when pet owners can't afford a life-saving medical procedure and have to have them euthanized. She reminded me that a veterinarian's entire focus is on saving lives, not taking lives and she wished that everyone would get medical insurance for their pets. I determined then that we would have it for our next dog, a border collie. We have had many of these tireless dogs and we were shaken to learn that at just eight years old, Jack had osteo-arthritis in his hips, despite careful breeding. The expense of the treatment and medications he has already required would seriously strain our budget today, and the costs are only going to increase as he ages. Buying Trupanion insurance for him as a puppy has turned out to be one of the best decisions ever, and the Trupanion service is exceptional. They are always available and understanding when you call, and claims are easy to submit and processed promptly. I urge every pet owner to buy medical insurance and I'd also recommend getting it from Trupanion.

Trupanion is amazing and a must for pet owners

Trupanion has been amazing and I’m so grateful I have it for all my pets. One of my cats recently went through a bad illness for 3 months. Stopped eating, vomiting, lethargic. I was able to take her to see an internal medicine specialist because I had Trupanion coverage. They did emergency surgery on her to remove a cancerous tumor in her intestine. Now she is on chemo. She is doing amazingly well. Thanks to amazing medical staff and Trupanion she is alive. Having Trupanion coverage lessens the stress of caring for a beloved pet when they are ill and lessens the stress for medical professionals too when caring for your pet. They can focus on saving pets instead of how to tell you what it’s going to cost in a digestible way so no one gets upset. I deeply recommend this coverage to pet owners. I had a healthy cat all her life and didn’t see this illness coming. Trupanion helped me manage everything stress free financially.

Claims,experience was good but adjudication was very slow. We are still waiting for the adjudication of our final claim. In addition, your form letter asking us to give Keiko a hug was insensitive as she had passed away ??

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
