Okay, service was a solid 9-9.5/10. But this is about referrals, and referrals are genuinely tied in with total experience. Very good I would say except for one little inconsistency. According to your ads, there are monthly premiums with NO UPFRONT COSTS. Upon setting up my contract, I was hit with an UPFRONT administration fee of $35.00. Hum... If first impressions count, one could argue the trust factor on this discrepancy. Still, for what it is worth, a very good program / policy this is.

I chose this score because if I ever got another puppy I would just put about $20.

I chose this score because if I ever got another puppy I would just put about $20.00 per month in a special account and if the pet didn't have any issues most of their life you would have a nice little stash when it passes on. If we had done this for the last almost 17 years we would have close to $4,000. That's only of course if you have a healthy dog.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
