I love Trupanion and am happy to have had it for the life of my little daxie.

I love Trupanion and am happy to have had it for the life of my little daxie. I find the service generally quick and efficient. There are a few things I think that should be covered that are not (like fees for taking the blood are not covered where the tests themselves are - this does not make sense or seem right to me.) I also am shocked at how fast the yearly premiums raised to over double what we initially started out with - whatever reasons they have for increasing the costs doesn't diminish the shock of this increase. In the long run over the life of our dog we have likely paid more in premiums than we have collected in claims but that is the way insurance works and we are happy to have had it. Staff have ALWAYS been wonderful and helpful.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
