I haven't yet received my insurance check. I am sure it is on it's way. I have to say with all the anguish and stress of dealing with Ambers illness, with the testing and different diagnosis until we can get it right, it is so very draining, but it is also so comforting to know that the trupanion insurance is there working for me. This has been the easiest part of Ambers illness, it is so easy to complete and send the claim form. Then I just sit back and wait for the check. I wish my own medical insurance was so easy. And the only reason the claim took 3+ weeks is that she has now been sick on and off for 3 months not that trupanion is taking a long time with the claim

Superb, empathetic, wonderful!
My beautiful greyhound was initially misdiagnosed with arthritis, later found to be cancer - osteosarcoma. Trupanion has not only paid 90% of her eligible costs, which are considerable, but also reversed their decision not to pay the bill including the arthritis diagnosis, since it was incorrect.
My other hound is also covered by Trupanion, and although thankfully his claims have been for less serious conditions, we received the same level of caring service. I cannot say enough good about them, nor can I thank them enough.

Right eye everted third eyelid
My puppy had an everted third eyelid, preapproval was much easier and the claim is processing much quicker. I would recommend that anyone who buys this insurance have a questionnaire to fill out for trupanion to put necessary info in their system so if they are needed they already have the bulk of the information at their deposal. When our pets are in need this would reduce the stress on the pet owner.

I have had 3 Great Dane X Black Labs and 2 cats covered since late 2005. I have experienced consistent, quality service with every claim over my 9 year histoy with TRUPANION. (Initially Vetinsurance). Paying Pet Insurance monthly premiums has proven to be a cost effective way for me to ensure my pets get the best care possible. It is the only way I have been able to afford costly veterinary care for them.
Outstanding service and support for costly ACL surgery for my first dog Bobby. They sent me a sympathy card when he passed away. My current 18 month old Great Dane X Black Lab, Oscar, started having grand mal seizures 5 weeks ago. I had to take Oscar three times to London's Emergency Vet Hospital. Trupanion paid the Vet Hospital directly through Claims Express as I didn't have the money to cover these costly bills. What a godsend that was. This week I had to take Oscar for an emergency admission to the Neuro ICU at the Guelph Veterinary College. I am 100% satisfied with Trupanion's service and support when I had to call them in the early hours of the morning not knowing how to proceed. The person I spoke to was compassionate and calm which helped a great deal. She explained what I needed to do and faxed the Claim form with Oscar's name and Policy number on it to the Hospital within minutes of the phonecall ending. Trupanion has processed all of these claims quickly and payments were made within the week. Today the costly medication bill was processed and approved withi
Monthly Cost
Your monthly premium is determined by multiple factors including your pet’s species, gender, breed, age, zip code, and the deductible amount you choose if your policy allows.
Coverage
Depending on your plan, the Trupanion policy pays up to 100% of your vet bill for all eligible expenses. There are unlimited payout limits, always and Trupanion will never increase or cancel your coverage because of claims you submit. Coverage includes new accidents and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions, diagnostic tests, hospital stays, and much more. Trupanion prides itself on paying out more on the dollar than any other provider and has paid out nearly $2 billion in claims to date.
Payout Limits
The Trupanion policy* has no payout limits, so whether your pet needs one quick visit or a lifetime of care, your coverage won’t quit.
That can mean a big difference if your pet develops a chronic condition requiring extended care like allergies, diabetes, or even cancer.
Deductible
If your Trupanion policy has a deductible, you can customize it to fit your budget. You can choose from $50 to $1,000 in increments of $5, or choose to have no deductible at all. Trupanion deductibles are per-condition and good for the life of your pet. That means no annual resets-once a deductible is met, you never have to pay the deductible for that condition again.
Age Limits
All new pets can enroll from birth until their 14th birthday. Once your pet is enrolled, they can be enrolled for life

Waiting periods vary by state. Please see your states policy for full coverage details.
However, other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
Like many other pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions. Whichever insurer you choose, it pays to enroll early!
