Very disappointed.

I have a claim with the company for over a month first they told me it was denied. Then when I called them they realized the denial was in error. The claim is for over 5000.00 dollars and they are still jerking me around every time I call they say the check will be released in 10 days this was 25 days ago. Customer service is awful. I am switching companies.

Horrible company!!

Horrible company!!! Stay away. They refused to pay for a well visit for my cat. They used a technical excuse. They also rAise there fees a ton for no reason. They are really despicable. But they will write tons of long emails. I am looking for different insurance

Does not hold up their obligations to customers

Terrible service, inefficient and dysfunctional website, fails to resolve issues and constantly promises claims are being processed. They're either frauds or fools. Stay away from Pumpkin Pet Insurance. UPDATE 8/24/22 Pumpkin has honored their obligations and processed my claims satisfactorily. I hope this will be their new standard for service. I am cautiously keeping my policy for now, but I am very concerned that such a poor experience may repeat itself.

Can't/won't process a claim

Website doesn't work and they charge you anyways

I tried to sign up, got all the welcome emails, etc. Then could not access the website, got an error. Called and was told oh sorry, our bad, apply again. Did, but had no luck getting the darn thing paid, again, website issues. Cancelled and gave up trying. Went with Pets Best. Then out of the blue 8 weeks later, I was charged for both months. Waiting on hold for 45 min+. What a laughable company. I do not recommend them and will never suggest them to any of my clients.

Monthly Cost

Plans start as low as $30 per month. Prices vary based on plan type, pet breed, age, and location.

Coverage

Every pet is covered by a 90% reimbursement rate to make it easier to say “yes” to the best possible care.

Payout Limits

Annual limits of $10,000, $20,000 or unlimited for dogs and $7,000, $15,000 or unlimited for cats.

Deductible

3 options: $100, $250, $500 and $1000

Age Limits

No upper age limits. Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to enroll.

Waiting Period

Insurance coverage begins 14 days after your policy begins for all conditions, including knee/ligament issues where some other policies make you wait 6 months for coverage. No waiting periods for preventive care (in fact, depending on when you received the care, you may be eligible for a retroactive refund).

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. However, unlike some other pet insurances, Pumpkin’s plan covers some curable pre-existing conditions if symptom-free for 180 days, with the exception of knee and ligament conditions. For full terms, visit pumpkin.care/insurancepolicy.
