Six weeks to process a simple claim is ridiculous! This is a common practice with your company, in my opinion, this is done intentionally, so you can earn more interest on your money.

Jury is still out

Slow processing - I submitted a claim in 2021 that wasn't processed until March, 2022 and then Pets Best applied the claim to the prior year deductible. With vaccinations, the cost of the vet tech to administer are being denied, but it was indicated there would be reimbursement if a vet administered. I'm assuming that would cost both of us more, so that doesn't make sense to me. I'm very concerned that if I have an emergency with my pet, that Pet's Best will find ways to deny coverage. I'm not sure if it is worth purchasing the insurance. On a positive note, it is very easy to submit claims online.

Disappointed

It takes way too long to process a claim - usually a month or more! Then, the claim is not covered, or I haven't met the deductible yet, or... Very few of my claims - and I have a lot due to a very ill dog, are covered. In addition, the monthly cost of the insurances has significantly increased due to my pet's age.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
