We've had PetsBest for a few years now

We've had PetsBest for a few years now, hoping we would never need it. This past year, its been our savior! It seems that when it rains, it pours, and when our sweet girl became ill and those expensive procedures and tests were needed, our insurance allowed us to provide care we would never have been able to financially afford as a cash only patient. They've reimbursed all of our claims so far, and while the some claims can take some time for processing, most have been paid pretty quickly and ahead of the estimated processing windows given.

Unfair denial of claim for Jaffa

Jaffa, our 5 year old mixed breed was lethargic and not himself. We took him to the vet for tests which costs $240 and the claim was established as a new chronic condition. I feel that was unfair because it was a new acute condition and they couldn't possibly have known that it was the beginning of a chronic condition. They therefore didn't reimburse the claim and established a deductible for this problem. The process is easy, but I think that claim denial was unfair. The only condition he has is hypothyroidism. While that is chronic, it doesn't mean that he's predisposed to other chronic conditions.

We appreciate that after submitting our…

We appreciate that after submitting our claim after our dog passed that Pets Best canceled our policy for our beloved Lulu and backdated to the day after her passing. I didn’t have the heart to call and cancel it but Pets Claim took care of it. It’s a small detail, but makes a difference when you’re not in the best place emotionally.

Claims reviewed in a timely manner. The breakdown for coverage is clear. Great continuous communications. Has had great experiences with reimbursements, especially after I set up direct deposit (faster, convenient, less paper).

Quick turn around - hand written receipt from vet

I work with a vet that has hand written receipts - despite that - the turn around time for the wellness visit was fairly quick. Even an apology that it was taking longer. So far I highly recommend pets best

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
