Deny claims even though they are covered procedures

Beware that you can take your pet to the only specialist (a soft tissue specialist) that can tell if your pet actually has Brachycephalic Syndrome and they decide that's not good enough proof to justify paying a claim that is supposed to be covered. The soft tissue specialist has to check your pet under sedation so instead of wasting my time with a general vet who does not have the training or the correct equipment, as my dog is high risk to be under sedation, I took my pet to a specialist that also had an ICU just in case my dog reacted badly to anesthesia. They decided not to cover it even though the soft tissue specialist found that the surgery was needed and proceeded to fix the problem, because it was not recommended by my general vet who I see only for vaccines and accidents. Why pay or take the time to go to an unnecessary appointment for them just to refer me to the specialist I took him to? Well if I knew it was the only way they would actually cover what they were supposed to I would have. When speaking to the representative she said it should have been covered but her hands were tied because it was denied. She said I could appeal but that was a long shot.

Our puppy was injured.

Our puppy had an injury on a Friday evening. We had to go to the Emergency Veterinary clinic. The bill was extensive and Pets Best approved it. So glad we decided to get pet insurance. Did a lot of research and decided to go with Pets Best. No regrets at all!!!!

Amazing customer service

This company is honest and reviews claims in a very comprehensive way, making it a very easy process for the customer. The customer service over the phone is top-notch and the app and portal are the most intiuitive possible! Would recommend this insurance to any new pet owner.

They do what they say they'll do

Pets Best's claims process is very intuitive - you can easily upload your receipts and enter the claim information, they'll email you updates, and you can check the status in the claims portal. Most importantly, they cover what you expect them to cover. We recently made a sizeable claim that I assumed any insurance company would try to deny, but it was approved as it should have been.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
