Confidence in Challenging Times

Pets Bets has never let me down. When my best friend became ill on multiple occasions, I was able to confidently seek the best care knowing that the financial side of things would be significantly helped. Please do you and your pet a favor and carry insurance for the unknown. Also recommend Care Credit or another 0% line of credit to minimize out of pocket expenses initially and then have time to pay back any deductibles. These decisions have given me priceless years of healthy and happy bonus time with my pal.

Great Coverage

In the past, I have been so grateful for Pets Best Insurance. However, recently there must have been staffing changes because 2 of my 3 claims were not processed correctly. While I do understand mistakes happen, the daily phone calls and stress I had to endure in an attempt to get resolution was significant. When a claim is “completed” incorrectly, neither the customer, nor the customer service representatives can speak to those completing or reviewing claims. I’m thankful for good insurance coverage, but I have to say there could be improvements made in completing claims accurately and providing timely customer resolution.

GET A DIFFERENT PET INSURANCE

There are pet insurances out there that will actually be beneficial… this one isn’t it. To start off at the smallest complaint, you are never reimbursed in time. It consistently takes a couple months for me to hear back. Second, their math just isn’t mathing. I spent $600 at an emergency vet hospital and only got $293 back. Somehow the insurances math is to take a deductible AND copay for each individual treatment even tho it was at one vet apt. Let me explain better. My dog was attacked so he had to get wound one flushed, wound two flushed, wound three flushed, all three wounds looked at, two different medications, a shot and an examine. Instead of doing one copay for the visit the insurance charged me 10 co-pays and 10 deductibles. One copay and deductible per thing the vet did at the hospital. Thirdly, my dog received a laceration to the face because he accidentally cut his snout on a corner. Then he got attacked (above) which resulted in a laceration. Now his insurance won’t cover any other cuts/lacerations for 18 more months. Fourth, i rescued a second dog and immediately got him insurance as well. 48 hours later i was told that his insurance was active and i could start using it. Great. So we go to the vet for an all over exam and find out that he has a rare form of kidney disease in the very early stages. I did this 10 days after i was told his insurance was good to be used. Well the insurance company won’t cover anything to do with his kidney ever because it was diagnosed before 14 days after his insurance was activated. Fifth, three months into my second dogs insurance he got a slight tear to his acl. Pet insurance won’t cover any of it either because it happened before the 6th month mark. Plz get a different dog insurance.

Not as I expected when I signed up

I wasn't expecting the preventative limits to be so low. Bordetella allowed is only $8. That's pretty low. The exam allowable limit is only $50. No one has exams for that. I was just expecting something more considering the additional premium for the coverage. It was my understanding that the coverage was 100% for preventative and 90% for the rest of the policy. But now I see it's not that way. I think of like to cancel the policy and go with a more expensive policy like trupanion that actually covers the total price of the invoice at the deductible rate advertised.
