Pets Best Deserve Their Name

I unfortunately had to rush my dog to the emergency vet right before the New Years because of foreign obstruction to her GI. We racked up a bill of more than $8000 to cover her surgery, recovery, and stay at the clinic. I was worried that I had to pay out of pocket but I am glad that I’ve always been loyal to Pets Best not just for this one dog, but for three. I filed a claim at Pets Best app and it was super easy to do. It did take almost a month to be reviewed, but on the 15th day I received an email that it takes a long time depending on the number of claims they are processing, so I didn’t have a problem as long as I got an update. On the 28th day I finally received the payment. Pets Best stayed true to their policies and words! I only had cover the deductible and copay. Thank you Pets Best for securing my dogs.

I feel that it’s taking way too long to…

I feel that it’s taking way too long to get my claims reimbursed consistently. Through my years with Pets Best sometimes my claims are processed timely and others it takes several weeks. I know you may need records etc… but it is never consistent on how long it will take.

I submitted my first claim for my dogs…

I submitted my first claim for my dogs yearly wellness visit and received almost half of what I paid back from Pets Best. So very helpful in times like these where money is tight. I have three policies, two dogs and one cat. I do wish medicated food was covered as my cat needs prescription food and it is not covered. I was also told that if they ever DO cover it, I couldn't add it onto my policy. Which is REALLY unfortunate. I am tempted to cancel the cat's policy, but she is old and things do come up so I will probably keep it a bit longer. It is just unfortunate because cat's don't normally have expenses like dogs do, this is the only real big expense and it isn't covered. With that I was very happy with the claim process for my Golden, customer service was very helpful and nice when explaining the cat's policy so, so far it seems like a great company!

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
