Good, bad, and future for our fur babies

"We've had Pest Best insurance on our fur babies for several years on several different beloved dogs/babies to help with the cost of routine care and wellness expenses in hopes we never had to use it for something more serious. Unfortunately, our beloved Maltese Ellie developed inoperable mast cell cancer and the tumor could not be removed. With the contribution of benefits paid by Pet Best we were able to provide various forms of treatment to keep her alive and comfortable long past the life expectancy predicted and otherwise unaffordable. Every moment with her was a treasured gift until she peacefully passed over. Likewise, when our Pomeranian Honey began having seizures we were able to afford the best of medical care for her. Both are awaiting us now on the rainbow bridge and we continue to purchase coverage for the two babies that were sent into our lives by divine orchestration and the spirit helpers of Ellie and Honey. We know our current babies, TinkerBelle, a blonde Pomeranian, and Buddy, a black and white shizpoo, are in good hands for any medical need thanks to Pet Best! May they have many healthy years with us!"

Peace of Mind and Reliable Coverage

Pets Best Insurance has truly given me peace of mind when it comes to my dog’s health. Having pet insurance takes the stress out of unexpected vet visits, and I’ve been really happy with how smoothly the claims process works. Every claim I’ve submitted has been covered as expected, with clear explanations and no surprises. Reimbursements come at a reasonable pace—usually within a couple weeks—and it’s easy to track everything through their online portal. Knowing I can get my dog the care he needs without worrying about the cost has made a world of difference. I absolutely recommend Pets Best to any pet owner looking for dependable insurance and a little more peace of mind.

Horrible insurance

Horrible insurance, if you can even call that. they declined two previous claims and paid about 30% if the last claim fir a condition that was not pre-existing.

Beware of Hidden Dental Requirements for Coverage

2 stars for nice customer rep on phone when I finally got to them. 0 stars for policy transparency. Buyer beware: if you want any coverage for dental incidents, your dog MUST have had a cleaning within 13 months of signing up or they won't cover ANYTHING dental. Even if you have had previous cleanings in the pet's life as needed. They hide this in fine print. So maybe not the best policy for little dogs who tend to get dental issues.

I'm a new customer and so far have had a good experience with Pets Best. I did encounter an error when trying to submit my first claim with the iOS app, but the website worked perfectly - and the claim was processed quickly.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
