Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

This use to be a good company but now they reject every single claim brought to them. They collect premiums and don't pay out. Waste of your money to buy pet insurance from this company, or most of the other companies.

They don't pay on the claims. They find every reason to not pay. Don't waste your money or even think they will pay on your claims. Really a headache to deal with such a RIPOFF COMPANY. Reply to Pet Best: Don't believe that the review process is the answer. Pet Best is in the Insurance Business where their plan is to DENY CLAIMS FIRST. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO FIGHT FOR COVERAGE. Second reply to Pet Best: PET BEST INSURANCE IS INDEED NOT WORTH THE MONEY. The veterinarian did not decide that this was a pre-existing condition. IN FACT THE VETERINARIAN SAID THIS CAME ON SUDDENLY. Pet Best told me that they made this decision, that it was a pre-existing condtion. An infection, that needed an antibiotic, is a pre-existing condition? (REALLY?) And from then on everything is a pre-existing condition, because the adjusters at Pet Best said so, that the Pet Owner will have to appeal and waste their time in doing so?? Pet Best can just DENY YOUR CLAIM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. WHY WASTE TIME AND GET UPSET OVER TRYING TO GET PAID ON YOUR CLAIM. BETTER TO JUST PUT THE AMOUNT OF THE PREMIUM IN THE BANK, AND USE THAT SAVINGS FOR YOUR PET WHEN NEEDED. ***I stand by my assessment***RIPOFF COMPANY. DON'T BUY PET INSURANCE. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND WILL ENGAGE IN HARASSMENT AND STRESS FROM SUCH COMPANIES, ESPECIALLY THIS COMPANY. They are in the business of making a profit off of your monthly premiums, not in the business of reimbursing you for your insurance claim.

This occured a few years ago but I just discovered this review platform. My Samoyed was around 8-9 yo at the time and I had Pets Best insurance from age 3yo. For his birthday & Xmas he would get a whole raw knuckle bone to gnaw on. This one happened to be a little smaller and he was able to bite directly down on it instead of scraping down the side; It resulted in him fracturing a molar. The cost for extraction, anesthesia, etc was approximantly $1000. Since it was accidental I thought Pets Best would cover it, However, he had some minor to moderate gingivitis/periodontitis (tartar accumulates faster in older dog's mouths) on certain hard to reach areas of his mouth which the vet noted, Pets Best deemed that the fracture was caused by this and by the natural wear & tear of aging. I asked that the claim be reviewed and my vet was nice enough to submit a letter stating that there was no indication that the tooth was at risk from either of these causes. It took several months before that got back to me. Pets Best still denied the claim and paid nothing! Over all those years, I had only previously filed claims for minor stuff usually not even making my deductible. There were only 2 not very expensive procedures they paid me for that didn't total more than $800, I had been paying $800-1200 annually for all that time!!! They also had an annoying poiicy that if you don't submit your claim within a certain time period it expires. I immediately switched pet insurance companies and will never use them again for any of my pets, For all my new dogs, I've use Healthy Paws I know insurance companies are in it to make money but customer loyalty & satisfaction doesn't compare to making a bigger profit for Pets Best.

I chose PetsBest when we first adopted our rescue. Still in need of puppy care. I selected the premium that stated coverage up to a certain point in regular annual care. At first it was great covered certain things, etc. Now that our second year has rolled around, it has covered anything. I'm pretty disappointed. As I understood it would renew certain coverage every year. I would discontinue the coverage, but if any emergency were to happen... well, I've read they are very helpful in that area.

Pets Best is so great. We have been with them for years and so glad we are. They are fast and thorough with claims. I have recommended many people to use Pets Best and as far as I know all are equally as happy as we are.
