Rude, Slow, and EVERYTHING IS "PRE-EXISTING"
I have worked with and owned dogs my entire life, and am currently employed as a dog trainer. This is your warning: DO NOT GET PETS BEST. They are the absolute worst. You cannot communicate with them at all without talking to rude, incompetent, uncaring people. You're put on hold forever. Claims take forever. BUT the absolute worst part about Pets Best is THEY DENY EVERY SINGLE CLAIM. Here's an example: I brought my dog to the vet because he was scratching uncontrollably. The vet diagnosed Canine Atopic Dermatitis and gave him a shot ($47) that completely cured him. Great, right? Nope!
Pets Best DENIED the claim because they said years earlier when I FIRST adopted him FROM THE SHELTER, his paws were a reddish color. They said this indicated he was licking his paws, that meant an allergy, scratching was an allergy, and therefore it was a "pre-existing condition." WHAT? I work at the shelter, and I can tell you that ALL dogs lick their paws in the shelter due to STRESS not ANXIETY. This is proven by the fact that a few months after he was home with me, he wasn't licking his paws and they weren't red anymore.
Also, allergies are NOT Canine Atopic Dermatitis, as my vet confirmed. I called them and got no response. I tried tweeting them and was BLOCKED ON TWITTER by Pets Best. Does that sound like a company who cares about your pet? No! They do not.
I cannot NOT recommend this company enough. Many other companies are MUCH BETTER: Healthy Paws, Pet Plan, National, Trupanion ... all heads and tails (pun intended!) over this sorry excuse for a company!

My dog got kennel cough and had to go the vet. I turned the claim into Pets Best and received a response and the money right away. I'm completely happy with Pets Best.

After Recently Getting Our First ...
After recently getting our first puppy, we were stressed about how we were going to cover all of his puppy expenses. With Pets Best Insurance and the Wellness coverage, we no longer have that worry! We have the ease of taking him to get his puppy shots and vaccines without any worry of making ends meet. Pets Best Wellness program has been a huge help.
Monthly Cost
$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.
Coverage
Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).
Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care.
24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies.
The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method.

Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
