This is the second claim that I have put in through PetsBest! They truly are the best. Quick, easy and upfront claims process. So happy that I decided on PetsBest Pet Health Insurance for my puppy!

Room for Improvement

I haven't had this insurance long. I just recently went through a claims process because my doggie was hit by a car and the experience was ok, not the greatest. There was very little explanation and communication throughout the process which was a bit annoying. The website is not very user friendly to check on the status of your claim because you are not able to click on any links pertaining to your claim. You can only see a "status" and if it says pending, you can't see why so you have to call and at times the representatives were not able to clearly answer questions. This happened to me twice which left me a bit frustrated. At one point I had to hang up and call back in order to speak with someone else. There's room for improvement.

Affordable, reliable, and quick to take care of business

I have had Pets Best for 4 years and haven't needed to use it much - until 2 weeks ago. My dog had a limp and was scheduled for an orthopedic consult. The day of his appointment, they decided they wanted to keep him for TPLO surgery. We picked Ronin up the day after surgery, submitted the documents online (so easy) and our claim was settled in 10 days. I couldn't be more pleased with my experience. Watching your pet suffer is stressful enough; having the peace of mind that I didn't really need to worry about money on top of it was priceless.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
