Unhappy with Customer Service

I very disgusted with Pets Best. Their payment for the policy may be very low but their customer service is horrible. I am very unhappy with my last claim payment. I tried to call for an explanation but could not reach anyone. I am ready to close this service and look elsewhere. I understand there have been problems with COVID but they should have someone answering the phone. I do not see a problem with them deducting my payment for the policy every month. They make sure there are employees to handle that part of their business

FALSE ADVERTISING.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Up to 39 days to process claims is absurd! Especially for a wellness exam. I can only imagine the processing time it would take if a serious issue occurred such as surgery, cancer, etc. The rep on the phone said the have limited staff and are in the process of hiring. How is this the consumer's issue? Nothing in the disclosure forms, or on their website that discuss this lengthy and crazy time frame for processing. I'm a new customer, paid for 60 days, and now must wait almost 40 days for reimbursement.

Good Communication

I recently changed my pet insurance to Pets Best from another company and I am so far very happy with the decision. My first claim on the new policy was handled efficiently and they were good to communicate throughout the process to set my expectations for when I should receive a response. I always appreciate good communication.

No concern over pet health, no notice of 14 day waiting period.

We rescued a dog. Then got insurnace almost immediately. A few days in we noticed a lot of itching. Brought her in for wellness check and to look at the itching. Sure enough the did a bunch of testing and found a few issues. However since we cared about our dig and she needed help, we couldn't wait the 14 day waiting period that I never saw written anywhere. If they care about your pet, especially when someone clearly just rescued the pet, the 14 day waiting period should be waived, or non existent at all. Now because we didnt wait the 14 days, my guess is it will all be considered "pre-existing", all because of a 14 day waiting period. To me that doesnt sound like a company policy that puts pets first.

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
