Best insurance at an affordable price and easy to process claims!

I started researching pet insurance companies after my dog had her front leg amputated. Pet's Best was friendly and answered all my questions about the different types of policies and they didn't need any prior records to sign my dog up. When I had to submit a few claims they were professional and helped me through the process. All claim refunds came back to me as direct deposit, which is so convenient. I would definitely recommend Pet's Best to all my friends and family.

Pets Best insurance

Well, I can tell this .... Its a downhill right now. I choose to have both my dogs insured with this insurance company. At beginning everything nice and speedy, so I was like WOW, much better then Nationwide I have before. But more time you have policy on - more time they have time to process claims. However, they charge you premium on time, right on a clock. I understood COVID situation , but its not that bad in Idaho, like in NJ where I live. I guess with all excellent reviews we all read about it Pets Best got millions of customers, so you have to hire more people to make customers happy. Right ow I and not happy at all.

I have had insurance through pets best for about a year and a half and am so happy! My dog just had CCL surgery and the claim was processed with no issue. I am a believer in insurance after my experience with them! Highly recommend!

Updated Review

This is an amendment to my previous review. My pet was ill and had an expensive surgery and Pets Best closed the claim after a month with no notification or documentation. I had been unable to contact anyone at Customer Service for days. Finally, I got a rep on the phone and she explained everything. I will be getting the claim paid, however "closed" is was they use as status for higher paying claims that have a brief wait period after processing. I am happy my claim is being paid and happy I finally got an explanation. Besides this gaffe, overall, I had been highly satisfied with this company. I give them 8 out of 10 stars. One deduction for putting up a confusing status with no explanation, and another deduction for the customer service wait times. I understand it is a Pandemic and I want the employees here (and everywhere) to be safe but it would more convenient for them to telework or do something else that made the operations flow run more smoothly. It's frustrating for a customer to have to wait over an hour on hold or have the customer service lines drop calls after being on hold for long amount of time. It's probably equally frustrating for the service reps.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
