Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

This may be the worst pet insurance company existing. Notice all the previous reviews were "invited" to review, so here is my honest personal experience. Our puppy ingested something toxic in our laundry room leftover by previous tenants that we rushed him to the ER for October 2nd. We submitted the claim almost 60 days ago and my portal still says "waiting on vet info" which is incorrect since I went into my vet's office and watched them send it over. When I asked PetsBest they just said their portal doesnt update properly (then fix it????). It's Nov 23rd and they said they still have no decision and we likely wont even get paid close to what should be covered. Not even 2 weeks later our vet gives us a prescription to treat our puppy's stomach illness and PetsBest denies the claim saying it was "preventative" so we had to submit an appeal and have our vet manually write that the medicine was used to treat our puppy rather than prevent. We still have not heard back from that a month later. Not to mention the 14 calls I have made (I keep a call log) have an average wait time of 47 minutes.... this insurance company is a joke! Please save your money.

best most amazing insurance company ever...i will never use any other insurance company, everything that has happened to my pets, Pets Best Insurance has come through and pretty much saved my life while I am saving my cats lives...thank you so much...

I bought this insurance because it seemed as though they would cover a wide variety of things. After purchasing a year's worth of insurance at once and filing a claim a bit afterwards, I had to wait for over a month to hear anything about my claims. My vet sent over my pet's records, and Pet's Best said they were waiting to receive it for a while, so I had to wait longer for it to get sent again or for it to go through, I don't even know what happened. Once I received a verdict, it turns out EVERYTHING was denied, including things that I was lead to believe would be covered, like wellness exams. Some things made sense, like certain supplements and what not, but everything? It appears that they don't cover anything at all unless things fall into place in an incredibly specific way, which is really unrealistic. Also, if your pet is over a certain age, you're doomed, this insurance is useless. I regret buying this insurance and don't recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been extremely impressed with Pets Best! The ease of filing a claim and getting payment has been a lot easier than I expected. I’ve had to file several claims over the last 2.5 years that my dog has had this insurance and the process has been flawless!

After searching through reviews, and pros and cons for several pet insurance options, we landed on Pets Best. Our kids had been begging for a pup for years and it was the only thing on the Christmas list complete with dog food, a dog bowl and a pooper scooper. We found ourselves at a cross way and (reluctantly) gave in. I’m typically not one that purchases additional services if there’s a chance they won’t likely be needed but I’ve heard too many stores of puppies needing surgeries for eating something they shouldn’t, so we intended to keep the insurance for one year. Everything was great until we took her in to be spayed, she came out like a different pup. She wouldn’t sit on her rear, didn’t have much energy, each day that went by was getting worse. We finally switched Drs and found out she was in kidney failure and wasn’t sure she was going to make it. The local vet tried to do 24/7 fluids to force her kidneys to flush the toxins but she barrel rolled and pulled out her IVs. Since they weren’t staffed 24/7 and not able to trust her, I drove her 2.5 hours to the nearest emergency vet clinic. There she was diagnosed with Renal Dysplasia, we were told to put her on expensive food and she would need to have fluids frequently... as well as the fact that she will likely have a much much shorter life. Pets Best had been phenomenal in reimbursing every single claim I’ve put through, in the past six months since being diagnosed we’re close to or have exceeded five thousand in claims. They have reimbursed for every single one. They would have even paid for a kidney transplant (pre-approved), however that wasn’t an option in our case. I truly can’t say enough good things about Pets Best.
