Even better than I imagined.

I had an unexpected, expensive medical issue with my puppy and thankfully I had Pets Best Insurance to help cover the veterinarian bills. The claims process was very easy to complete. I called once to follow up and the person who I spoke with was extremely friendly and helpful. And most importantly was able to answer my questions right away. I highly recommend Pets Best Insurance for all pet owners.

Claims were paid

My dog had some serious health issues during the last six months resulting in some large claims. Although the time to process the claims was a bit long, all of the claims were paid without question. Sadly, we lost her at the beginning of December and Pet’s Best proactively refunded the premium for the remainder of the policy year. They also sent me a sympathy note. I was very impressed with this service at the end of my sweet girl’s life.

I'd give them 6 stars if I could

I opened the policy for my dog a couple years ago, and hadn't ever really used it. Every time I took Chewy to the vet for a check up, it was a smaller bill, so I kept forgetting to submit the reimbursement request. But when crisis struck, and Chewy needed emergency surgery, the bill for that was another matter. It was SO easy to submit the claim, and they were super quick to handle it, even though it was the holidays. No hoops to jump through, no interrogations, no hassle. For the small amount I pay every month, it is WELL worth every penny to have this insurance for when you need it most.

What happened to customer service??

While it's very simple to file a claim, it's not that simple to get customer service. I know there is a delay because of the pandemic, but seriously, I've waited more than 30 minutes to try and talk to someone. And once the claim has been submitted, there is no way to add more information online, other than to scan more documents. And you can't see what documents you've previously submitted. Perhaps it would be helpful for them to add an option to call you back if they're not able to be fully staffed right now. If you try and use the online chat option, you get nothing but someone who will tell you that claims take 30-45 days to process. I tried that option when I was checking on the status of a claim that was still pending, even though later claims had been processed and paid. Did I need to submit more information? I still don't know, and I'm not about to spend any more time on hold.

Pets WORST insurance

Pets WORST insurance. This is a complete SCAM DO NOT BUY THIS INSURANCE. They rejected every single one of our claims for a new puppy as “pre-existing” conditions, which is inaccurate as our puppy has gotten sick with new issues. Also, the claims were processed 40 days after submission and only after we called twice. Absolute rip off, don’t even consider this company. Re your message, I’m sure you will “finish processing the two claims” only to deny them like EVERY other denial. I have five friends with puppies. I told all 5 that Pets Worst is a complete rip-off.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
