Don't Expect to Have Anything Covered, or to Hear Back in Any Time Frame

We have had Pet's Best for ~1.5 years and have made 3 claims thus far for our puppy the same age as the policy. At this point, I have no clue what Pet's Best actually covers and beginning to ask myself why I even have insurance through them. It takes over 6 weeks to get a claim through! During that time, no communication of the status, even if you try to reach out. When the claim finally goes through, the explanation of what was covered and what wasn't is abysmal, not to mention the fact that they cover next to nothing. 3 claims and they have covered ~10% in total. We have the BestBenefit - Unlimited Annual Limit and the EssentialWellness coverage. In our pup's annual check-up and vaccination, they did not cover the Influenza, Bordetella, Borrelia (Lyme) or Leptospira vaccines. At this point I'm paying Pet's Best to file claims and tell me more than half isn't covered.

I love this company and everything but....

I love this company and everything and I have the MAX 90% plan with the add-ons and low deductibles. I've only had to use them twice. The first time I was thrilled that it took only a week for them to process my claim. However my dog had a more important exam and services the second time and I was counting on them to be as fast and proficient as the first time. The reason I have this plan is so when my dog breaks its leg, for example, instead of putting him down Like a lot of people are forced to do because they don't have the money including me Is If they can show friends family proof that they're going to get reimbursed for it so they get loans and pay them back and blah blah blah Or the medical direct reimbursement to the veterinarian form. I was depending on using this form in the future and keep trying to convince my vets to agree but it took 45 days plus to process my claim and I couldn't even get a straight answer from them whenever I try to reach out how am I supposed to convince a veterinarian to sign this form which isn't a guarantee of payment and expect them to wait 45 plus days.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
