2 week policy is a scam.

I got this insurance for my 2 cats and it has been the most unhelpful plan. I put my newly adopted kitten on the plan, but unfortunately he came with some medical issues that were not known beforehand. When I took him to the vet, it fell under the 2 weeks of no coverage policy, so I had to pay for everything out of pocket plus the monthly fee for the insurance. I am canceling this plan and hope that people won't sign up for it if their pet needs immediate attention as you will be out of luck for any compensation. Abolish the 2 week policy.

Very unhappy with customer service

I have had pet insurance for 25 years. I changed to Pets Best 2 years ago and luckily have not had any major illnesses with my 3 pets. However, I have had some dealings with it well after the 6 month waiting period and I have to say their customer service is not good at all. This last issue I had I dealt with 2 nice representatives that could not help me. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager I was told I could not, that they did and the answer was what was conveyed to me. I have been a manager of a big department for 35 years and NEVER would I not talk to a dissatisfied customer. Unfortunately with the age of my dogs I cannot change at this point.

I recently submitted a claim for my dog…

I recently submitted a claim for my dog who has been having stomach problems for a long time. We brought her to the vet and the vet only marked the bill as an exam, so I wasn't sure if Pets Best would acknowledge that it wasn't a routine exam, it was for a health issue and should be covered. They took their time and must've done their due diligence because they honored the visit and covered it. I really appreciate their help.

The insurance for my babies is…

The insurance for my babies is wonderful! My only problem is the processing time. When I first started the policy for my 4 babies over a year ago claims would process with in a 2 week time frame. Now the processing time is over a month. They take their money out the same day each month but they can’t pay promptly. Other than that I wish the flea and tick benefits were a little more. It doesn’t even cover a 6 month time frame.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
