Great Insurance

Pets Best has affordable insurance rates if you get it it as a puppy, claims handling and processing as well as customer service is great so far. Had this insurance for over a year, and has been beneficial to have from well visit/shots/spay, I still save money with this.

Expensive Mystery Ailment Paid For

Our normally social and affectionate 6 year old Poodle was behaving beyond strangely. Hiding, trembling, squealing at the touch. After 2 days we were extremely concerned that there was some undetectable injury, bite, or infection that could have serious health implications. We took her to an emergent veterinary hospital where a physical exam showed no trauma or obvious signs of infection. Tests run by her regular doctor also revealed a dog in perfect health. After a few days, she returned to normal and we all concluded that the episode was a post traumatic, emotional reaction to something that happened to her which we didn't see, but which nonetheless affected her deeply. By the end of the week we had our dog back and several hundred dollars in medical bills, which Pets Best reimbursed. Our story couldn't have ended better and is proof positive that insurance is well worth the investment. Thanks to you all.

Peace of Mind

We've been policy holders for nearly a year now and, so far, I'm happy with our experience. Filing claims has been easy, everything that I expected to be covered was covered, and we've already saved money on what we would've paid out of pocket not having insurance. Sticker shock at the vet is definitely reduced. The only reason I can't leave a 5-star review is processing time, which in our experience has been about a month and a half for claims. If you can float the expense for that period of time, then this is a great policy, but if you can't, you may want to consider your options.

They take a tremendous amount of time…

They take a tremendous amount of time to process claims with no communication. When you chat with someone you can't get a straight answer without giving them 6 pieces of information. I wouldn't recommend them.

It should not take over a month to…

It should not take over a month to process a claim. I have also found that the coverage is lacking so reimbursements aren't even close to what a paid out. So after factoring in the monthly payments and applying the deductible, it costs me more than it saves me. This program is just not worth the money.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
