Good but not great coverage. For your average pet owner, pet insurance is something we expect to cover repetitive expenses: dental cleanings, shots, physicals, fecal floatation, anal gland expression, etc. Most of that is covered but only if you buy the Best Wellness plan, and even then, the maximum payout per period is so low and so specific that most routine care isn't actually covered. For example, the dental cleaning is "fully" covered, but that just means the dental prophylaxis is covered, not medical waste, anesthesia, ampicillin, vitals monitoring, dental radiographs, endotracheal intubation, IV catheter/fluids, Hospitalization, dental exam, or bloodwork. All together, our total bill is just over $900. PetsBest reimbursed us $270.
For accident and illness, the plan is great. We have the 90% reimbursement and $250 out of pocket. However, most of the time we have no accidents or illnesses and, like I said before, most treatment falls under the wellness plan, which just doesn't cover enough.
I recommend Pet’s Best because they cover and reimburse like they say they will. It is hassle free and they take the financial stress out of my pet’s emergencies.
I had pet insurance for my older cat . The website was so easy to upload my vet receipts. After I hit my deductible Pete best paid 80 percent and I received the difference back to my account within a couple weeks . My cats passed away and the closed my account for me and even reimbursed a monthly amount back with a nice email about my loss . This was my first experience with pet insurance and I did a lot of research ! I found the best and was so thankful I had them until the end ! Thank you

I have been with this company for many years for my 3 dogs. Every year the price increases several hundred dollars per dog eventhough there has been no major issues. My 11 yo dog had a mass growing on his cheek and the vet determined that he has an infection in his gums and 2 teeth needed to be removed. Prior to this, the vet did not see any issues with his mouth/teeth. We had the surgery for him and removed the 2 teeth. I filed the claim and it was completely denied because they said I had to have had his teeth cleaned 13 months before this issue, not the same day as the surgery. Well if I could have forseen the future to know that he would have issues with him gums/teeth, I would have. They said anything going forward regarding any issues with his teeth or gums would not be covered at all. Sooo I am paying over $1000 per dog per year for what exactly??? Plus a $500 deductible. At this point, I do not even spend $1500 yearly on any health issues. This company used to be good but unfortunately has gotten greedy and is putting profit over care of animals.
My dog needed surgery, and I panicked thinking about dealing with insurance for her. I was very happy with everything, from submitting the claims to the resolution. Everyone I interacted with was super helpful and polite, and the claims were processed quickly. It was all so quick and easy.. I'm happy to have this insurance for her.

Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date.
