Improved online claim

The new online claim submit system is really nice and the process for filing claims has been much easier than before. Their process time can take several days from filing to their decision making, and then additional 2 days or so for the bank transfer. If I disagree with their decision I can request a review but that would take 30 days and in the meantime all processings of consequent claims will be paused until the questionable one got resolved. Luckily, timing is not a big concern for us now since our cat mainly had minor issues that needed to be taken care of.

Happy overall

I am happy overall with my coverage. Claims are handled quickly and for the most part easily done. Coverage is good. However pet is prone to ear infections and it Baffles me that you refuse to cover vet visits and medications bc he has had more than one over a period of time. A child would be covered for same, why not a pet? Its not lack of care that causes them. Dont understand that.

MY CHIHUAHUA WOULD NOT BE HERE IF IT WERENT FOR THE HELP OF NATIONWIDE PET INSURANCE. HE CONTRACTED MENNINGITIS AND BARTONELLA AT THE SAME TIME ONE YEAR AGO. IT WAS AND HAS BEEN A COSTLY JOURNEY TO KEEP HIM ALIVE AND NOW FINALLY DOING WELL..THANKS TO NATIONWIDE COVERING MOST ALL OF HIS COSTS. tHIS IS A GREAT INSURANCE COMPANY AND i RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO GETS A PET TO INSURE THEM IMMEDIATLEY THROUGH NATIONWIDE. yOU NEVER KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN AND THEY HAVE COME THROUGH FOR MY PET. WE ARE GREATFUL...BARKS AND HOWLS!

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
