It appears that how happy you are with Nationwide depends upon which plan you’re on and how old your dog is. I’ve had Nationwide for my boy for about 10 years, he’s now 14, and as a result the premiums have sky rocketed, while the Major Medical benefit schedule pays such low amounts as to be ridiculous, so I cancelled. I couldn’t see any scenario where I would ever save money. I’ve heard from others that their plan that pays a percentage of the cost is much better. So be aware, Major Medical will not cover your major medical expenses. They don’t ever update the benefit amounts over the life of your dog and your cost will go way up as your dog gets older. I will go elsewhere for my pet insurance in the future.

Nationwide has provided superior service on every claim submitted. We've had three dogs covered, one of which we recently lost after his fifth hospitalization. Thanks to Nationwide, he had the best care possible and we are eternally grateful. Everyone on their team has always been friendly, caring, and professional. I always recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance to my friends and neighbors. My most recent interaction was with Martha when I called to confirm our policy was cancelled after the passing of our sweet Ronnie.
