What a Pleasant Surprise After a Crummy Day
As a general rule of thumb, I have a very cynical view of what my insurance will actually cover when it comes time for them to pay a claim, as well as how combative the process will be.
This was unreal.
After Sam's emergency vet visit during quarantine, we we're already stressed out, but happy he was alright.
A couple of days later, I filed the claim, which was the easisest thing on earth (literally just uploaded the receipt/discharge papers the vet emailed me).
Within 48 hours, I got a simple email saying "claim approved" and (2) weeks got a check.
I never leave reviews, but was impressed enough by this process that it felt warranted.

Excellent Insurance Coverage
I've been very happy with this coverage for our dog. Submitting claims is very easy, and I appreciate that the coverage extends to preventative care and prescriptions as well as emergencies.

Great insurance
We are so glad to have Nationwide Pet Insurance. Our dog Brandy requires a special diet and daily medication because of her sensitive stomach. Each month that I have submitted a claim for her medication, Nationwide has paid it quickly.
Monthly Cost
Policies start at approximately $12 per month.
Coverage
Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage.
The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees.
All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.
Payout Limits
Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances.
There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Deductible
Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000.
Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.
Age Limits
No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.
Other plans may have age restrictions.
Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
