Nationwide is the worst
Nationwide is the worst. They yearly cap every single illness, injury or service and they must use a 1980 reimbursement table. My dog had dangerously high liver values and had to be hospitalized for 2 days. My bill was $8000 and after much fighting, they paid $2000. After 9 years of 2 dogs premium payments and their claim that they provide “peace of mind in case of hospitalization” I was expecting the payment to be the other way around. Get a plan that pays a percentage like 80% 70% so at least you can plan and budget.

Policy Start Date - Ridiculous Wait!!!!
The person who helped was very kind and had an answer for everything (even if it was a script type answer). Which is why I would like to give more stars but the issue is with the policy waiting period, which was stated as over a month. That seems very long especially when you are doing the right thing and adopting/rescuing a pet... they usually need to see a vet and get care sooner than later... This day in age, when you can get an ice cream cake delivered to your home still frozen or transfer thousands of dollars digitally and only wait a day, waiting for over a month for coverage is ridiculous. Just my thoughts.

Waiting Period
14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.
Exclusions
Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months).
Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
