Great Experience!

Had my first experience with Nationwide after one of my Beagles was bitten by a poisones snake. Fortunately, I was able to get him to the emergency vet in time and he's back to his normal self now. The bill for his treatment was about $2400. The process for getting my claim completed and my reimbursement was both simple and quick. A+ for Nationwide!

Love that you all take the time to follow up and check in with my pet after her surgery. I’ve had Nationwide for 4 years since We got Bear as a puppy and have love it. Now have my mom and our son and his wife have Nationwide insurance for their pets. Highly recommend!

Getting started

New puppy, and new insurance for her - including wellness benefit. First vet appointment went well. She is healthy - just some parasites from her mother. Nationwide took almost one month to process our first claim - I had my last dog insured through Nationwide when it was VPI for 11 years, and my claims were processed quickly and thoroughly. I hope that this can improve in the future.

The payout for this one claim more than paid for the year's premiums. A good investment that I would urge pet owners to make.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
