Slow Payments

Coverage is great, claims process is simple but payments take quite a while to receive.

Best I have ever had for our dog.

I have had absolutely no issues with this insurance company. Quite the opposite, in that it has been a blessing in making ends meet for my family (which includes our dog as a member). If I had known about this company and insurance plan I would have bought it sooner. Live and learn. Our little fur family member is almost 8 years old and has a lot of incidents and claims lately (ranging from $45-over $1,000).

Claims and costs

Premiums are getting high and increasing significantly every year. Claims take too long to process.

You are the best

I feel that I have made the right choice of insurance for my cat (Maya) I do not worry like before I insured her now. I know that if she gets sick she is covered and she can be taken care of medically.

Really happy with the coverage and the speed of reimbursement

I'll make this short, the insurance is exactly what I expected and was paying for. They cover the things they're supposed to (just about everything) and don't cover the things I wouldn't expect them to (like nail clipping), and they reimburse me in a timely fashion and I don't have to fight over the bill or what services the dog received from the vet. I highly recommend Nationwide pet insurance.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
Since 1982, Nationwide has helped pet owners protect what matters most. Policies range from nose-to-tail coverage to routine pet care plans that offer reimbursement for wellness exams and preventive treatments.
