Vet insurance

I have not had any issues with nationwide pet insurance. I’m glad we got it to be honest. If I had to say one thing that could be improved on is the processing time on a claim. Average time has been 2 to 3 weeks. But overall truly no complaints very good pet insurance.

Untimely, unresponsive, partial coverage

The amount of time that it took to review my cats chart and make a payment was completely in adequate, when I called to ask for an explanation I was given short rude answers, and in the end the coverage was only partial, I was never told there were caps on everything.

Max is doing very well after his surgery to remedy several scary issues.

I have not been notified if Nationwide is covering the majority of what I have submitted but so far, Nationwide has covered some (most are in review). I have been very happy to know that I have Nationwide to back me up. For a lot of people seeing the $$$ and not having insurance...it may be the choice of paying for it or putting your pet to sleep. It's good to know I don't have to take on this burden all by myself.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
