Peace of mind

Taking our dogs to the vet when they aren’t feeling well is already a worry. When our dog had a twisted stomach and it looked like surgery was in his future, I was able to tell the vet to do whatever was necessary and not worry about the impending bill. Luckily the situation resolved itself and he didn’t need surgery, but his bill was still hefty and fully covered by VPI!

Slow response

My dog now requires prescription food due to allergies, but it seems to take even longer to get reimbursed and often I am buying the following month's food before I am reimbursed for the current month. Not sure why it takes almost the maximum amount of time for what should be a standard reimbursement.

Great pet insurance

I love Nationwide pet insurance and it’s great how easy the claim forms are easy to complete. The only problem is I wish they covered more for certain ACL repair surgery and I don’t like how you have to wait a while if your dog already had ACL repair surgery. My dog tore her ACL and that same insurance period the other leg went. Overall Nationwide is great and I would highly recommend.

Best coverage available for your Dog!

Nationwide is hands down the best health insurance for a dog. Their coverage has always worked to cover the unexpected expenses associated with my Boxer. Great company!

I am very thankful and blessed to have some coverage for Mac

I believe all pet owners should have insurance coverage because they are your family. Mac does not think he is a dog, so I take care of him as if he was my child.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.
