You've been very good to us so far.

I would have to say that Nationwide Pet Insurance has been very good to us so far. I insure two dogs and having pet insurance has been a real savior. Oreo has been to the Emergency Vet Hospital three times in four years for various issues and Nationwide has paid the claims each time. It is so reassuring to know that finances aren't holding us back from getting our dogs the care that they need and that even if it is a weekend or evening or my vet can't fit us in, we can go to the ER with confidence knowing that our pet insurance is there to help us cover the cost should we need it. The latest issue for Oreo turned out to be a narrowed disk in her back and I had to take her to Emergency on a Monday night. After bloodwork and x-rays and $1100 later, I learned that she has a narrowed disk in her back. I went home armed with anti-inflammatories and pain medication. Nationwide covered over $600 and that is after my $250 dedeuctible. Yes, it is expensive but, like our children, our pets are important members of the family and wouldn't you do anything for your family?

Easy

It’s a great feeling knowing that I can take care of my dog without the worry of costs. Submitting a claim is easy and reimbursement is fast. I appreciate the explanation of what is covered and what isn’t.

Nationwide VPI Is Awesome

I have had Nationwide's whole pet with wellness plan with a 90% deductible for several years and I highly recommend getting pet insurance for your pet as soon as you can. I had been meaning to get pet insurance, but wasn't sure which one to get. After a large vet bill, I decided not to wait any longer. Several months after I started with pet insurance, my pet started having a lot of infections and eventually needed several surgeries and to be put on a special diet - all of which Nationwide covered 90% of the costs. Nationwide's customer service has been awesome throughout the whole process and I am a very happy customer. One downside to Nationwide VPI to consider is it is an invoice reimbursement claim process, so you do have to submit a claim with invoices and Nationwide will pay you 90% of covered costs within 30 days (they usually process in about 2 weeks), whereas some other insurance companies offer a program where they pay the vet directly and you only have to pay your share at the vet during the time of service. To make the claim process easier, Nationwide does allow you to submit claims via their mobile app and you can get the claim paid electronically to your bank account. I chose Nationwide based on a coverage and cost comparison I made from research, but I know people are happy with other companies as well, so I think it's just a good idea to get a good pet insurance policy from any of the companies your vet recommends - and to do so sooner than later because pre-existing conditions are not covered by any policy.
