Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

My dog (or should I say my baby) was brought into an Emergency Room while I was out of town. That alone cost me > $500 for testing and exam fees. Hoping that the ER visit was the end of it, it turned out that Asher had some foreign objects stuck in his stomach and small intestine. The likelihood of them passing on their own was minimizing as the days passed. 1 more emergency visit, 3-5 tests later, we rushed Asher into same day surgery to get the foreign objects removed (quoted at 3k to 7k) for the procedure, hospitalization and medicine. I graduated college in June of 2018 and have just gotten my finances grounded with a full time job. Thankfully my company offers Nationwide pet insurance as an optional benefit and I opted in as soon as I joined. If it weren't for the reassurance that Nationwide would have me covered, I would have lost everything I have saved since I graduated. Thanks to Nationwide for helping me focus on my pup and not have to think of money as a driving factor. Because of them, Asher is doing better than ever before.

Good so far

Pepper's recent tests revealed herniated discs in her lower back. These often cause pain and always mean less than ideal comfort for her. Conducting an MRI allowed us to know exactly which discs are herniated and go forward, target her PT accordingly. With laser therapy, spinal manipulation and at home PT, we are hopeful her discomfort will improve and she will walk and lay comfortably. Even better, she may lift her tail and start to sit regularly again! She is a generally happy girl who has worked around these issues and just wants her people to love her (and her siblings to not eat her food! :) ). Thank you Nationwide for giving us piece of mind that Pepper will always get the best care!

I can’t say enough about the value of pet insurance. My ten year old beagle mix was diagnosed with cancer and thanks to Nationwide I was able to give him the best care possible without thinking about cost.

Our sweet pit mix had a malignant mammary mass earlier this year. We had to make a decision about what level of care we could afford, and knowing that Nationwide had our back allowed us to pick the best option for our girl. The bill ended up being $1,000+, and Nationwide covered a big portion of it. The surgery was successful and everything is back to normal, including our finances :-) All three of our dogs are covered by Nationwide, and it's such a relief knowing that they'll be covered in case of emergency or bad luck.
