Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

I have been a client of Nationwide Pet Insurance for over 10 years. I've had both my french bulldogs covered under their various policies. In the last few years, I've had the whole pet with wellness rider plan. It covers 90% of all our expenses after our deductible. It is expensive (and this last years rate hike was extreme) but I decided to stay with the same coverage. The coverages give me a real piece of mind. If next years price increase jumps nearly $100 again I will look into switching companies. So Nationwide please take this into consideration. While I understand that insurance costs reflect a multitude of factors - at the rates, I am now paying - the least insurance companies should do is try and get the costs we pay per year deducted on our taxes. Use your influence and lobbyists; our animals are a part of our family.

Submitting the review was easy. Just took pictures of the receipts with my phone and sent them in. About a week later, the claim was fulfilled.

My vet was very responsive to my concerns, and provided valuable advice which I have followed, to the benefit of my Lady.

The claims process is not a problem, but the length of time to review and pay on a claim is much too long. We were told when we signed up that claim payment was within 2 weeks of the claim. It usually takes a month - sometimes more- to get payment. This issue is what prevents us from recommending Nationwide to other pet owners.

It just gives us peace-of-mind knowing that our pet is covered for almost any emergency. Fast and accurate response to our claim is another thing we can count on. Keep up the good work!
