Coverage Lacking

Very upset to find out testing for stomach worms is not covered by Nationwide. My vet was shocked and appalled, said this is the ONLY insurance she's ever heard that doesn't cover testing for potential infection/sickness. Each time Rogul has serious digestive issues this test will be required and we will lose $170 ($85 before and after) to know for sure what Rogul needs to be treated for. We are considering switching insurance plans for this simple fact alone. Very unaccommodating.

Great Experience

I have appreciated the ease of claims and the vet helpline. It has made dealing with Merlin's severe allergies much easier on me and my wallet. I love my dog and this has enabled me to provide him with the care he most needs.

I'm so thankful to have Nationwide Pet Insurance!! It is so worth it!!! Customer service is always friendly and helpful and the claims are paid in a timely manner. I have and will continue to recommend Nationwide to all my friends and coworkers with pets.

Thank you for taking the worry of high cost Vetrinary care away.

Never in 100 years would I have thought my dog would tear an ACL, but she did. I was worried about not being able to pay for the care she needed. I thought I would be paying a credit card bill for the next 5 years. The claim was settled quickly and covered almost all of her surgery. My girl has already healed and is back to her normal routine. Thank you for taking the worry away.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
