Best Insurance Ever!

For being a mutt, our dog is VERY high maintenance. She's managed to inherit all of the unfortunate health issues of her breeds. Thankfully, Nationwide has been a huge help in offsetting the cost of her vet visits. Filing claims is super easy and my claims are always paid quickly. Rarely do I ever have to call for clarification on a claim payment, but when I do, customer service is wonderful. I recommend Nationwide to all of my friends with pets.

Fast and easy claim service

Unfortunately I have had to use my pet insurance quite a few times for one of my pets and Nationwide has always been efficient and easy to file a claim with. I recently added a second pet and have suggested them to anyone looking for pet insurance. They have wellness coverage which is amazing and more deductible/ payout options than most other companies. While the prices have increased from my first pet to my most recent they are still reasonable and less expensive for better coverage than most competitors.

Don’t bother

I called just to ask about pre-existing conditions and got the run around. This lady actually said if you ever have a soft tissue injury then it could be injured again due to the weather or an accident. I asked to speak to someone who could answer a specific question and she refused, reading to me again from the policy she had in front of her.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
