Service good but reimbursement delayed

My experiences with customer service were very good. My questions were always answered and I was treated well. The claim reimbursement was fair and it was pretty easy to submit a claim. However, the reimbursement for my claims took a very long time. Some of my claims took up to 3 months to process for reimbursement. I went out of the way to make sure that the vets sent all the information Nationwide needed, and even after this was done the claims still took almost a month to complete. I felt like they were either ignored (one representative I spoke with said she didn't know why multiple of the claims hadn't been processed yet because they didn't even require complete medical records to close) or the influx of claims is too great for the amount of employees to handle in a reasonable time frame. Either way, I plan on continuing with Nationwide for a little longer, but if the processing time stays the same I will probably look for a different carrier.

Love this pet insurance!

I love everything about Nationwide pet insurance. The only reason I gave the ease of claiming a 9 is because my vet never include a diagnosis on the invoice. I put what was wrong or what he went to the vet for but sometimes it gets denied and I have to get the vet to send additional information.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
