Great communicators

One thing is for sure. Nationwide is very good at communication-- mostly all of it through email correspondence. The claims process is clearly presented upon receipt of the initial claim, explanation of benefits, and follow-up. Even the occasional mailing of general cat wellness information is helpful.

Very timely in issuing checks

Very timely in issuing checks. I was a little disappointed in the $30 increase in my premium this new period.

It's really pretty easy to file a claim with the app.

Pet insurance is a monthly expense, but if you can afford it, it offers great peace of mind if and when pet health issues arise. Nationwide has always been very prompt in reviewing any paying my claims for my Cairn Terrier, Riptide. The VitusVet app is fairly easy to use to photograph the vet bill and submit the claim.

We are so very lucky and grateful for nationwide pet insurance. Our sweet boy has benefited immensely from allowing us to give him the opportunity of the best heath care. Nationwide has helped us in so many ways financially, without question. We are so thankful that we chose the plan that we did for our dog, it has undoubtedly made a difference in his and our lives.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
