Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

We signed Odin up at 1+ yrs and were asked for his records. We sent them along and received a note back stating he would not be covered for any future ear infections caused they were likely caused by allergies. This despite the fact that the vet records stated clearly the ear infections were caused by water from swimming. There is no mention of allergies related to his ear infections in his vet records. The letter had a similar response to his intestinal issues - they are categorically a prexisiting condition. The response implied no intestinal issues would be covered so we called customer service to gain clarification. Yes, we understand preexisting conditions specific to his bloody stool. So we asked the rep the question: if he eats a stick and has intestinal issues, will he be covered - the customer service response was "likely not". We were told to contest the response by sending the records (which you and the rep had) and explaining our position.

My company had an option for pet insurance and I decided to look into the reviews of Nationwide pet insurance. I was impressed with their reviews and how their coverage worked. In the past, and not thru my company insurance, it seemed like most companies covered pets until they got older. That's the easy way out for any company. They take your money because they take the least amount of risks. Nationwide has been wonderful. My vet found a lump on my dogs leg and if I had not had insurance i don't think i would have been able to afford to have it removed. My sweet baby girl is doing good and every day with her is a blessing. I would recommend Nationwide to everyone - family, friends and strangers - Much love and appreciation to this company and it's employees.
