Customer Service Very Helpful and Caring

We have been with Nationwide since they took over VIP Dog Insurance (which we were with for our previous dogs). I would recommend pet insurance to anyone...regardless of the pets age. Stuff happens and it truly helps you make better decisions. The only thing I wish they could change is security code to get in. As we were back when it was VIP Pet Insurance and I don't remember my code...20+ years ago. I cannot check online as I don't know the code. I wish they could just eliminate my previous code and I could set up a new one...not happened for over 1 year. Apparently they can't and I would always have to call in if I want to know something. Somewhat frustrating, but otherwise good. Sherri

Yes, unequivocally, I would and do recommend Nationwide to other pet owners, because they always meet their promised coverage.. I especially appreciate "Wellness Coverage" for routine veterinarian visits.

Easy, timely, and dependable

My cat developed a chronic thyroid problem. It's nice to know that the special food and medication she needs is covered. It gives us peace of mind to know that we can get what she needs without worrying about cost. Pet insurance is worth every dollar and I highly reccomend it!

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
