Life Saver

claims and reimbursements have been processed in a timely manner - communication and updates are consistent. I cannot remember if I have needed to call customer service, explanation of benefits and coverage is pretty straight forward. Definitely recommend for anyone who is a new pet owner, especially if you are adopting and there is not much information or history for your pet.

First Time Pet Insurance Carrier

This is our first time carrying pet insurance after 30 years of having pets, and this has been the best experience we could have asked for. Kallie has received great care and we have been able to claim things. Albeit the insurance does cost us a premium and deductible, and it may wash a little for the time being, be can rest comfortable should we have anything major ever come up with Kallie's care. She is a full blood Moyan Poodle, classified as a toy, she is awesome and has brought a lot of joy to our lives. We paid a lot for a full blood and want to make certain she is taken care of well.

Nationwide is the most efficient and easy pet insurance out there!

I appreciate all the direct and quick phone calls to/from Nationwide - it has been easy to submit claims and quick to receive reimbursement, which is usually a financial stressor. Thank you for easing that burden on us and many other families out there who care and love their pet.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
