Profit over pet. A little more compassion please.

First the BAD... One... they don't cover congenital health issues. Also, they don't make it a point to advertise that. They should be up front and honest. PLENTY OF OTHER COMPANIES DO. Nationwide is more about the money. Not the wellbeing of your pet (family member). Two... they don't have actual vets on hand to assist with claims. PLENTY OF OTHER COMPANIES DO. With Nationwide you are the mercy of a pencil pusher who's main job is to save company money. He or she decides your claim not an actual educated veterinarian. Three... because of the former myself and my vet had to fight tooth and nail to get them to cover a non-preexisting allergy. Remember, you're dealing with a pencil pusher who is trying to save the company money not an actual educated veterinarian. Now the GOOD... One... when the do cover a claim the turn around time is pretty quick. Two... they keep you well informed when processing your claim. Also, the ETA on reimbursement checks. The IN-BETWEEN One... most every vet excepts them though not a lot of vets like them because they are hard to deal with and they don't like the fact that they choose profit over pet. Final thought. It's probably a good insurance if you don't have a pet with a lineage of medical issues like bulldog breeds, pugs... or any flat face animal for that manner. Do your homework. Sad to say I didn't read the fine print on congenital health issues so we are now paying thousands of dollars out of pocket because they choose profit over pet. Also, the rep I talked to that helped me sign up didn't have the common decency to tell me that my Frenchie wouldn't be covered for a lot of health issues. The rep was only worried about the bottom line and signing up a new customer. It's not all about the money, people, pets are family and deserve to be treated like family. Thank you kindly.
